Floating Glass Shelves

Floating Glass Shelves.com is owned and operated by Bluegate Inc., Miami, Fl. The idea of “floating” shelves was devised when the owner of Bluegate Inc. was remodeling a bathroom in his family’s house. He wanted to install glass shelves in the shower without hardware that might rust. Skipping the hardware, he thought, means there are no metal pieces that need to be coordinated with faucets and other elements of the décor.

From that project, a new line of glass shelves was designed that fit directly into the wall with a tongue-and-groove installation. No brackets necessary. Each shelf piece features tabs that fit into notches in the wall. The homeowner, a handy man or a hired contractor is responsible for slicing the notches. In addition, adhesive caulking around the edge secures the shelf as it slides into the notch.

Once this new fresh approach to hanging shelves was created then the owner decided his tab-and-slot glass shelves would work nicely in many other applications. So he manufactured a line that includes glass shelves in squares, curves, rectangles and triangles.

Since then, our line of Floating Glass Shelves has been used in many projects. These are some of them just to mention a few:
  • Ritz Carlton
  • American Airline Admiral Club
  • University of Notre Dame
